As an internist and physician-leader, I believe that the delivery of optimal patient care is best achieved by forming strong doctor-patient relationships, which are built upon care that considers the whole individual. As medical care becomes more complex, I believe this care is best achieved through a multidisciplinary team approach, which also includes empowering patients to feel like they can also alter the course of their own health. In addition to my passion for teaching medical students and residents, I am also passionate about the utilization of “teach backâ€� in patient education.  I feel honored to have a career that allows me to improve people’s quality of life and hope to continue to reflect and grow the ways in which I can ensure this for my patients.
