Dr. Wissink trained in Family Medicine and after residency went on to do a fellowship in Integrative Medicine through Andrew Weil’s Center for Integrative Medicine at University of Arizona. He serves as both a primary care provider and an Integrative Medicine consultant for Mainehealth. In both of these roles his passion is focused on health promotion and addressing health problems with both lifestyle behaviors and other integrative approaches based on a patient’s individual values. He has started the Lifestyle Medicine program at Mainehealth as this allows for a deeper focus with more time for patients who desire to make lifestyle changes. He has found the group dynamic works well to support individuals who are committed to developing healthier lifestyles and address any of their health issues through lifestyle changes.
