Two credit rating agencies continued to give northern New England’s largest health system high marks for its financial strength even though the COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant financial impact.

FCC awarded AOAÌåÓýƽ̨ for costs associated with rapidly expanding the health system’s telehealth infrastructure and technology in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

Proceeds will support Memorial Hospital’s new Medical Assistant program.

Students studying biology, human development, osteopathic medicine, nursing and athletic training are among the recipients of scholarships from Memorial Hospital’s annual scholarship funds.

Universal masking, screening and testing protocols are already in place as the health care system brings back surgeries and other procedures for those patients for whom waiting could have medical consequences.

Since the start of the COVID-19 outbreak, Memorial Hospital has focused on safety precautions to limit transmission, and keep staff and the community safe, while preparing for a possible surge.

While the COVID-19 pandemic has caused many school graduations to be cancelled, the nursing staff at Memorial Hospital made sure to honor their graduating student nurses with a traditional ceremony on Wednesday welcoming these new nurses to their profession.

For almost 20 years, patients requiring emergency care at Memorial Hospital may have been seen by nurse practitioner, Mary Vigeant. Her contributions to her profession have earned her recognition as the New Hampshire Nurse Practitioner of the Year.

Memorial Hospital primary care and behavioral health patients can now see their provider without leaving home by using a computer, tablet or smartphone.

As of Tuesday morning, March 24, no visitors will be permitted at Memorial Hospital, North Conway, N.H. The change is to help protect patients and staff from the COVID-19 (coronavirus).
