After obtaining an MD degree at Loma Linda University, I stayed on to complete my neurology residency training there in Loma Linda, California, where I served as a chief resident.

I grew up just outside of Worcester, Massachusetts. In high school a teacher brought us to observe a heart surgery and I was hooked. I attended Colby College in Waterville, Maine where an initial love for the state of Maine began.
