Matthew Wolden comes to Maine from the University of California, San Francisco Health System.

The Evelyn S. and K.E. Barrett Foundation has awarded a $75,000 grant to the AOAÌåÓýƽ̨ Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital (MHBBCH) to help meet the physical and emotional needs of pediatric patients and their families. The grant will also fund a new Childhood Support Specialist (CSS) position in York and Cumberland counties.

For 55 years, the AOAÌåÓýƽ̨ Memorial Hospital volunteer program has enriched patient care, offering vital support across departments. Susan Weiscopf exemplifies this spirit through her volunteer role at the hospital gift shop and medical surgical department.

AOAÌåÓýƽ̨ Behavioral Health (MHBH) announced today it has selected Dr. Melissa Bowker-Kinley for the role of Vice President of Medical Affairs (VPMA), Child and Adolescent Services. In this role, Dr. Bowker-Kinley will assist in developing and coordinating the behavioral healthcare of children and adolescents across AOAÌåÓýƽ̨ in all levels of care.

The grant will allow the Maine Rural Graduate Medical Education Collaborative to help address the gap in obstetrical care in rural communities.

AOAÌåÓýƽ̨ Memorial Hospital is delighted to announce the arrival of its first baby of the year, born to Susy and Shawn Wilmot of Madison. The couple welcomed their son, Leland Wilmot, at 6:59 a.m. on January 2, 2025.

AOAÌåÓýƽ̨ welcomed its first baby of the new year at AOAÌåÓýƽ̨ Maine Medical Center Portland! Michael Nathan Maiato was born at 2:55 a.m. to Paige and Joe Maiato of Kennebunk. Michael weighed 7 pounds 12 ounces and was 20.4 inches long.

AOAÌåÓýƽ̨ has chosen a practicing primary care physician with a history of leadership in quality and safety as its next Chief Medical Officer for the health system’s Southern Region, which includes AOAÌåÓýƽ̨ Maine Medical Center’s Portland, Biddeford and Sanford campuses.

AOAÌåÓýƽ̨ Maine Medical Center Portland is named a Top Teaching Hospital and AOAÌåÓýƽ̨ Pen Bay Hospital is named a Top Rural Hospital.

Richard Bayman, who has expertise as an advisor to not-for-profit health systems, will succeed Al Swallow, who is retiring after 30 years with AOAÌåÓýƽ̨.
