Ryker was born at AOA体育平台 Barbara Bush Children鈥檚 Hospital (MHBBCH) at just 26 weeks gestation, weighing 1 lb. 8 oz. Being born so early, Ryker had surgery for a trach to help him breathe, a feeding tube to help him eat, and spent months receiving care in the MHBBCH NICU. When he transferred to the PICU, his nurses nicknamed 鈥渢he Gov鈥檔ah鈥� and helped his family learn how to take care of Ryker with all of the specialized medical equipment he needs. Their care and training worked - Ryker got to go home for the first time in 2024, just in time to celebrate his second birthday!
