AOA体育平台 Behavioral Health (MHMBH) provides comprehensive mental and behavioral health care services through AOA体育平台. We share the AOA体育平台 mission, vision and values. Services include counseling and therapy, hospital-based behavioral health care, community-based treatment programs, and integrated behavioral health care in AOA体育平台 primary care practices. Coordinating client and patient care across multiple locations and treatment settings provides optimal health outcomes and serves as a national model for treating people with behavioral health issues.
AOA体育平台 Behavioral Health at Spring Harbor
AOA体育平台 Behavioral Health at Spring Harbor is Southern Maine's only not-for-profit, free-standing private psychiatric facility. The 100-bed licensed center is set on 50 private acres. Children, adolescents and adults experience a comfortable and pleasant setting for psychiatric treatment. As part of the AOA体育平台 system, Spring Harbor is clinically integrated with mental health providers, hospitals, and primary care sites to make sure people can access care easily, safely and effectively.
Accreditation and Awards
AOA体育平台 Behavioral Health is licensed and accredited in Maine to provide community-based services for adults, adolescents and children challenged with mental health, developmental disorders, co-occurring and/or substance abuse issues. Our services include outpatient treatment, medication management, residential treatment, supported living, integrated care, psychosocial rehabilitation, intensive outpatient treatment, case management and behavioral health home services, among others.
We hold hospital inpatient care contracts with AOA体育平台 Maine Medical Center and AOA体育平台 Pen Bay Hospital. We also provide services in partnership with the AOA体育平台 Maine Medical Center outpatient psychiatry practice. Programs are managed by AOA体育平台 Behavioral Health and accredited by the joint commission under the hospital contracts.

The Joint Commission "Top Performer" Accreditation
is an independent, not-for-profit organization that sets the standards by which health care quality is measured in America and around the world. In 2015, AOA体育平台 Behavioral Health at Spring Harbor was recognized in The Joint Commission America's Hospitals: Improving Quality and Safety report for attaining and sustaining excellence in performance. The Joint Commission's recognizes accredited hospitals that attain excellence on accountability measure performance. Out of the 10 hospitals recognized in Maine as top performers, AOA体育平台 Behavioral Health at Spring Harbor was the only one recognized for psychiatric measures.
The Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval
AOA体育平台 Behavioral Health at Spring Harbor also received the Gold Seal of Approval from The Joint Commission. To maintain and earn accreditation, organizations must have an extensive on-site review by a team of Joint Commission professionals at least once every three years. The purpose of the review is to evaluate the organization鈥檚 performance in areas that affect patient care. Accreditation is awarded based on how well an organization meets The Joint Commission standards. Safety and care quality are top priorities. - 2012: Dr. Bruce Chemelski, Senior Psychologist in the hospital's Developmental Disorders Program, was named Special Education Therapist of the Year for 2012 by MADSEC Administrators of Services for Children with Disabilities.

- $1 million donation from Judy and Al Glickman of Cape Elizabeth to establish the Glickman Family Center for Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
